Latest entry is this dashing and stylish 1918 Essex Sports entered by Geoff Moore. The Essex will join the lineup of Centenarians in the Paddock. Of course, Geoff will look much more Edwardian on the day, with no need for the helmet, flameproof overalls or plastic racing number! ALL Centenarian cars are being offered completely FREE entry this year, as we mark the twin Centenaries of the Armistice and the founding of the Royal Air Force.
As of today, with six weeks to go to the day, we have allocated 375 climbs for Pre-War Prescott 2018, which means we have just 100 left out of the best-scenario 475 climbs that might be available – assuming no red flags and a steady flow of cars at the start line. As each pre-booked entry receives a free climb, and about 60 or 70 more entries are expected, we are in danger of running out of climbs some time before the day. In order to mitigate this risk, we will soon have to reduce the limit of the number of climbs that can be pre-booked, from three to two or even one. So if you have not yet entered and wish to book the current limit of three climbs plus a free one, may I suggest you enter without delay. If you post your entry to John Hicks (as opposed to entering online), do contact me with your entry details if you want to beat the climb reduction which will almost certainly take effect by next Friday, 15th June. You have been warned!
Of course, there is no limit to the number of spectators that we can accommodate on the day and spectator entries can also be pre-booked. We already have a good number of spectators booked in, and at just twenty five Pounds per car, to include all occupants, this is the best deal of the summer. Among the spectator bookings, we already have a fantastic ten Riley Roadsters who will be gathering to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of these fine motorcars. All RM Rileys, be they roadsters or not are warmly invited to join in this celebration.
