Every year, on the Friday evening before Pre-War Prescott, we hold an informal reception at a local hostelry to welcome early arrivers.  These usually include a number of entrants from overseas, adding an international flavour to the gathering.  The Friday night meet is also popular with those who arrive on Friday afternoon and set up camp in the Prescott Orchard.  This year, we will be gathering at the Shutters in Gotherington, just along the lane from Prescott and the Landlord will be prepared for us with plenty of great food and fine local ales.  So if you are planning to arrive in the area on Friday, do come along and kick the weekend off in fine style and among good company.  Personally, I will be arriving from Seattle around noon on Friday and driving to Prescott in the afternoon where I will be making final preparations for the next day and welcoming the campers as they arrive, then heading to the Shutters around 6 pm, by which time I will be ready for that first pint of English ale since last year!
